Tutoring

We are committed to supporting every student's learning growth and achievement through targeted tutoring and intervention programs. Using evidence-based strategies, we strive to close learning gaps, reinforce foundational skills, and enhance learning. Our highly experienced and knowledgeable staff monitor progress and adapt their approach to ensure each student receives the support they need to succeed.

Through regular exposure to core essential learning, our intervention programs help students build confidence and mastery in key areas. We foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and motivated to engage in their learning. Our Tutoring and Intervention programs build strong foundational skills, equipping students with the essential tools to maximise their learning opportunities.

 

Intervention

We offer a literacy intervention program designed to improve the foundational reading and spelling skills of students who need extra support. We believe that our literacy interventions should be based on the best available evidence for teaching reading and spelling. Therefore, we use programs that incorporate effective strategies for teaching phonics, phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. MiniLit is used for Grades 1 and 2, and MacqLit is used for Grades 3-6.

 

We follow the Response to Intervention (RTI) framework, providing intensive small group work for students who need support or at times, one-on-one interventions for those who need greater assistance. We identify students for literacy intervention based on assessment results from their classwork and closely monitor their progress to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions.

Our goal is to boost student achievement in literacy, to maximise learning and success across the curriculum.
