The Victorian Curriculum for Foundation to Grade 6 outlines what all students should learn during their first seven years of school. It provides a common framework of knowledge and skills essential for lifelong learning, social development, and active citizenship. Our school’s Humanities and Social Science (HaSS) sequence of learning has been carefully designed to broaden students’ horizons and provide equal access to important shared knowledge and language.
Each term, students work on planned units centered around key learning areas such as Geography, History, Technologies, and Capabilities. Lessons are scheduled throughout the week, allowing students to develop essential skills and knowledge in each subject. The lessons are designed to be engaging and challenging. Additionally, the school includes core knowledge units that help build foundational knowledge, often linked to and then integrated into our reading and writing lessons.
