2008 ART EXHIBITION

The biennial CPS Art Exhibition was held in May this year. Based on Aboriginal Art, the exhibition featured the artwork of every student in our school. The exhibition also featured an Archibald Prize for the best canvas painted by each class of their teacher. There was a constant stream of visitors all week and it was voted an overwhelming success. Please have an online peek, if you dare, at some of our outstanding artwork.

PREPS 2009

Following our 2008 School Expo in May, many prospective prep 2009 parents have taken up our offer of a personal tour with the principal or assistant principal. We extend that offer to any other families who are still considering placement for next year. We are delighted to showcase the unique and special offerings that our school and its students and wonderful staff are proud to share.

FOOTY DRESS UP DAY

Our Junior School Council has undertaken a wonderful initiative, raising money for cyclone victims in Burma through a Footy Dress Up Day with each student making a gold coin donation. We had Alistair Lord, the 1962 Brownlow Medallist, as our guest speaker and were very excited when Channels Nine and Ten came along to our day and we featured on the news that night.

SUSTAINABILITY

Carnegie has a strong sustainability focus which is reflected in both the students' learning and in their everyday practice. The Herald Sun visited our school recently and produced a piece about our sustainabilty initiatives.

We look forward to meeting with you and getting to know you as we work together to provide the best possible education for your child.

Please give us a ring, make an appointment and tour our school in person. A great time to visit is during the morning as this gives parents an idea of the Early Years Literacy Block and an insight into the working tone of the school.

I believe you too will find the school a welcoming, warm, caring place with a community atmosphere.
