A Caring Environment for Your Child

Carnegie Primary School has a long and successful history as a provider of quality education for its students. We are a modest sized school, with 310 students, culturally diverse and with a very strong sense of community. We offer a comprehensive curriculum in the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. Our current School Strategic Plan with its Improvement Goals of Thinking and Numeracy, along with a strong focus on teaching and learning, aims to provide the education that will ensure that your child progresses through the new century with skill and confidence.

The teachers at Carnegie Primary School are committed and caring, and will challenge, stimulate, encourage and support your child as he or she develops the skills and knowledge required to become an independent learner. Our school is using strategies based on the Department of Education and Training, Early Years Literacy Project, with the Reading Recovery program also in place to provide extra assistance for children in Year 1. Extensive staff training on the subjects of learning styles and multiple intelligences is currently being undertaken to strengthen our emphasis on supporting the individual needs of each student.

Parent participation is encouraged and highly valued at Carnegie Primary. A strong partnership between home and school provides the best foundation for your child's success. All parents are encouraged to become involved in a variety of ways, School Council, Parents & Friends Association or in classroom programs to name a few. Our school is very proud of its friendly and welcoming environment

We at Carnegie aim to ensure that our secure, friendly atmosphere combined with high quality programs to develop both social and academic skills will make your child's time with us both valuable and rewarding.

We look forward to meeting with you and getting to know you as we work together to provide the best possible education for your child.
