Welcome students, families and staff to Carnegie Primary School for 2016. Carnegie Primary School is a growing school with an enrolment this year of about 560 students in 23 classes. Our steadily-growing enrolments allow for greater flexibility, both in staffing and curriculum, while still maintaining a community feel and a sense of belonging for all. We are committed to the development of whole-school effective teaching and learning practices to best support the children in our care. Our vision is to provide an engaging, supportive and inclusive learning environment where children can interact positively in a safe, respectful and cooperative atmosphere.
Term 2 has been a fun and busy term with lots of sporting activities, especially for the senior students. Our Prep Expo on April 27th was an early highlight as we welcomed our prospective new families to look around our school and to hear what we have to offer. Our senior students took the opportunity to lead the tours and help us to showcase our school. They did an amazing job. NAPLAN testing for grades 3 and 5 students took place in the middle of May and our whole school photo day followed soon after. Grade 6 camp is another highlight in the second last week of term. It will be a great conclusion to an enjoyable and productive school term for all. Good luck!
Our school motto is Welcoming, Engaging, Achieving and we always try to live that every day. We promote respect and inclusion as our key values and instil in our students the importance of these as they go about their daily lives and build their relationships. We look forward to a successful new school year in 2016. Good luck, everyone.
